A new report from CNN reveals how Republicans groveled, begging the Biden administration for infrastructure money they blasted as “socialism.”
Documents unearthed by the network show Rep Tom Emmer (R-MN) pleading with Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg for funds, even admitting “this grant also strives to serve as a social justice measure.”
For months Republicans said Biden’s infrastructure bill was a big government boondoggle, and almost all Republicans in the House and Senate voted against the legislation.
But now that roads are being built and bridges are being repaired, the party wants to be seen at ribbon cuttings and other events to help their ratings with the public.
Biden got infrastructure passed with a Democratic congress, after years of Donald Trump promising “infrastructure week” but failing to deliver over and over and over again.
