Shan Hackwell said Wednesday, Aug. 18 that the bodies of two Moab women had been found in the South Mesa area of the La Sal Loop Road in Grand County. According to a relative of one of the women, the two were Kylen Schulte and Crystal Beck.” [Times Independent]

Couple Married Four Months Before Death. “The newlyweds married just four months ago and were well-loved by the Moab community. Schulte’s aunt, Bridget Calvert, said that Schulte had worked at Moonflower Community Cooperative the past four years and many who shopped there knew her.” [Fox 13]

Medical Examiner Says Gunshot Wounds Caused Deaths. “Medical examiners determined the cause of death for both women to be gunshot wounds, and the Grand County Sheriff’s Office will investigate the case as a homicide. The sheriff’s office did not state whether anyone has been arrested in connection to the case, but said in a statement that the office “believes there is no current danger to the public in the Grand County area.”” [SL Trib]
