Shanna Ries is a 41 year old woman from Watertown, South Dakota. She worked as a teacher in the Henry School District. Police have accused Ries of having an illegal relationship with a 16 year old student.

Ries Arrested, Accused Of Abuse. “A release from the department says it arrested Shanna Ries, 41 of Watertown, saying she is accused of sexual contact with a 16-year-old student. Ries was arrested for sexual contact with a child under 18 – position of authority (Class 6 Felony) and sexual exploitation of a minor (Class 6 Felony). A Class 6 Felony is punishable by two years imprisonment in the state penitentiary or a fine of four thousand dollars, or both, according to the release.” [Watertown Public Opinion]
Ries Taught English Language Arts. “Police say the school district has been notified of the charges against Ries, and that additional charges are pending. Ries, a Lisbon, North Dakota native, has been teaching English Language Arts to middle and high school students in Henry.” [KVRR]
