Michael Taylor Arrested, Accused Of Assault. “A high school basketball coach and teacher in Escambia County was arrested this past weekend on aggravated assault and battery felony charges. Jail records show Michael Taylor, 48, of Pensacola, was arrested Sunday afternoon and charged with: aggravated assault with a weapon (felony), battery (misdemeanor), cyberstalking (misdemeanor), domestic battery by strangulation (felony), Taylor is being held in Escambia County Jail on no bond. Escambia County Public Schools tells WEAR News Taylor is suspended with pay, pending the outcome of the investigation, pursuant to Florida statute.” [WEAR]
Report Alleges Taylor Held Gun To Victim’s Head. “According to the arrest report, Taylor allegedly held a gun to his girlfriend’s head and choked her, causing her to pass out. Deputies also noticed bruises on the victim that appeared to be from days prior to the incident. According to the report, the two had been in a relationship for about two years. After the incident, the victim told deputies, “next time he’ll kill me.” The arrest report revealed the argument stemmed from text messages that were sent by the victim to Taylor’s ex-wife.” [WKRG]
