Michael Chick Allegations
Chick Accused Of Stalking, Harassment Of Child. “Michael Chick, 39, is facing federal interstate stalking charges, alleging he crossed state lines to threaten a child and the child’s family, according to Jane Young, U.S. attorney for New Hampshire. Court documents allege Chick had given the boy TracFones with instructions to take inappropriate photographs of himself, placed GPS tracking devices on his parents’ vehicles to track if they went to police, and made multiple visits to the family’s home at night. When Greenland police investigated, they found the trackers still active, exactly where Chick told police they were located, according to authorities.” [NHPR]
Parents: Chick Gave Gifts To Boys. “In April, their parents reported him to the school for giving the children gifts on the bus, including candy, toys and Pokemon paraphernalia. Then in July, court documents say they found two prepaid cellphones in a Pokemon lunchbox in the boy’s bedroom. “This entire investigation started with parents being vigilant and being involved and plugged in with their child,” Greenland Police Chief Tara Laurent said Wednesday. “If they hadn’t come forward, I feel like other children would be in danger for years to come.”” [NBC]
Police: Chick Threatened Boy To Send Pictures Of Himself. “A forensic extraction of the data revealed call logs, and bus surveillance video and audio captured threats Chick allegedly used to scare the boy when he resisted taking photos of himself and sending them, saying if he didn’t take photos of himself a gang would kill his family. A search warrant executed on Chick’s Chevy Malibu uncovered a buttonhole-style surveillance camera, tracking devices, a large baggie of children’s underwear and handwritten notes to the child including instructions on how to take the photos, according to the affidavit. Investigators said the instructions included what to wear and how to pose.” [WMUR]
