Bomb Squad Called In, Evacuations Ordered In Middletown. “A bomb squad was called to Middletown during a “police incident” which caused residents to evacuate their homes for hours on Wednesday. Joseph M. McClure, 44, of MIddletown has been arrested after the nine-hour incident.” [Daily Voice]
McClure Was Subject Of Homeland Security Investigation. “McClure admitted to authorities that he possessed explosive items and materials related to explosive materials, as well as manufacturing explosive materials with compounds related to such. He also told police that he had a home laboratory and was not formally trained to use these objects.” [Fox 43]
McClure Charged With WMD Manufacturing. “McClure is currently facing felony charges of unlawful possession or manufacture of weapons of mass destruction and risking catastrophe, as well as a misdemeanor charge of recklessly endangering another person. Officials said he will also be charged at the federal level.” [WITN]
McClure Has Previous Convictions For Terror Threats. “McClure has a long criminal history including two prior convictions for terroristic threats in 2005 and 2010.” [Local 21]
