Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI) admitted that he is using federal tax dollars and his position in the U.S. Senate to defeat Joe Biden in the presidential election.
Speaking to a radio station, Johnson said he is using his power to dig up information that “would certainly help Donald Trump win reelection” and would “be pretty good, I would say, evidence about not voting for Vice President Biden.”
The use of his office and federal resources to attack Biden was slammed by the Biden campaign.
“This damning acknowledgment totally exposes that Ron Johnson’s disgraceful conduct is the definition of malfeasance,” Biden spokesman Andrew Bates told Politico.
Led by Trump ally Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), the Senate is pushing investigations into the origins of the FBI probe of the Trump campaign.
During the 2016 election, the Trump campaign made contacts with Russian operatives in an attempt to gain an edge in the presidential election.
Since then, Donald Trump and other Republicans have promoted conspiracy theories that the Trump campaign was spied on by the Obama administration.
