Abby Choi Murder Details

Choi Murdered, Manhunt Triggered. “The village house where police have found parts of the corpse of a Hong Kong model had become a gruesome human butcher shop, officers have said after finding a meat grinder, electric saw, soup pots with human tissue, and legs stuffed into the refrigerator. Authorities on Friday said they suspected the killing of Abby Choi Tin-fung, whose torso, head and hands had not yet been found, was triggered by a fight over tens of millions of Hong Kong dollars that erupted among the 28-year-old influencer, her ex-husband and his family. The former husband, 31 and jobless, was the focus of a citywide manhunt, while Choi’s ex-brother-in-law and the former parents-in-laws had been arrested.” [SCMP]

Choi Body Dismembered. ““We are still looking for the head,” superintendent Alan Chung told reporters, after disclosing that a woman’s limbs had been discovered inside a refrigerator. The house was equipped with an electric saw and a meat grinder that had been used to mince human flesh, Chung said. “Two pots of stew believed to contain human tissue” were left at the scene, he added.” [Al Arabiya]

Choi Had Four Children. “Her friend, Bernard Cheng, said she has four children: two sons ages 10 and 3 and two daughters ages 8 and 6. The elder two were with Kwong, 28, and the younger children were with her current husband, Chris Tam.” [AP]

Police: Kwong And Family And Financial Disputes With Choi. ““We believe the victim and her ex-husband’s family had many financial disputes involving huge sums,” police superintendent Alan Chung said, according to the AFP news agency. “Someone was dissatisfied with how the victim handled her assets, which became a motive to kill.” Choi was allegedly last seen by her ex-husband’s brother, who also worked as her chauffeur, The Guardian reported.” [WHIO]

Police: Attack On Choi Was “Premeditated.” “The attack was “well-planned” and “premeditated,” and there were many “smokescreens” to hide the truth from authorities, according to a statement by police. The ground-floor apartment of the three-story home in Tai Po’s Lung Mei Tsuen had been meticulously prepared as a place to cut up a body, according to Superintendent Alan Chung Nga-lun of the Kowloon West regional crime unit. He said, “The body parts that we found were inside the refrigerator. There are two legs belonging to a female.”” [Meawww]
