Zamar Kirven, a football player for the University of Houston, has been charged with the murder of two of his high school teammates from Mart High School in Texas.

Kirven Accused Of Murdering Two High School Teammates. “Zamar Kirven — a former starting LB for the Univ. of Houston football team — has been accused of murdering his ex-H.S. teammates in a violent shooting Sunday. The McLennan County Sheriff’s Office said Kirven opened fire on 2 men, who may have been asleep at the time, at around 2 A.M. in Mart, Texas.” [TMZ]
Sabion Kubitza, Jacob Ybarra Were Killed. “Officials were arranging for counseling Monday at Mart High School after a deadly shooting in which a former student is charged. Zamar Kirven, 21, of Mart, is charged with murder in connection with the shooting early Sunday that left two men dead. Authorities identified the victims as Sabion Kubitza, 22, and Jacob Ybarra, 20.” [KWTX]
Kirven Was Kicked Off UH Team. “Kirven enrolled at the University of Houston in 2018 but entered the transfer portal back in December after being kicked off the team, per a report from the Houston Chronicle. “University of Houston backup linebacker Zamar Kirven has entered the transfer portal,” Joseph Duarte of the Houston Chronicle wrote last winter.” [24/7 Sports]
