
Fred Sulter was a 61 year old kite surfer from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Sulter died after his kite slammed him into a building.
Sulter was reportedly carried about 400 feet by a sudden wind.
Sulter Dead After Slamming Into Building. ““He was windsurfing on the beach, and the wind picked up and threw him against the building, and he went down,” a witness said in a 911 call. “He’s unconscious on the floor. He’s bleeding.”” [Daily News]
Police: Wind Was Too Strong For Sulter To Release. “Fort Lauderdale Fire Chief Stephen Gollan, addressing reporters near the scene, said, Fred Sulter, 61, “was attempting to kite surf in the ocean behind the address here, actually, just two doors down, when strong winds came into the area unexpectedly, and he was not able to release from the kite in a timely manner. ” [Beach Grit]
