Brent Shira was a 45 year old man from Westlake, Ohio. Police say Shira appears to have been the murderer of both Nathan Demetra and Yi Chai. Shira allegedly committed suicide. Demetra and Chai were engaged to be married to each other.

Shira Accused Of Double Murder Suicide. “According to police, officers responded to a call from a neighbor on Monday around 11 a.m. who said they could see a deceased person in the home from the window. Police say all of those involved had gunshot wounds. Westlake police say the shooting was a double-murder suicide.” [WJW]
Police Believe Shira Killed Couple, Then Himself. “Westlake police said preliminary analysis indicates Brent Shira, of Jefferson, shot and killed both Nathan Demetra, 31, of Westlake, and Yi Chai, 35, of Westlake, before turning the gun on himself. Chai’s Ex Husband Called Police At 911. “Chai’s ex-husband went to the house to check on Chai Monday morning after her employer called him saying she didn’t show up for work. Moments later, he dialed 911 in and told operators he found a man lying dead on the first floor, which turned out to be Demetra.” [WKYC]
