Kerperien Charged With Sharing Inappropriate Photos. “Tosha Kerperien, 37, of Imperial was charged June 3 with three counts of furnishing or attempting to furnish pornographic material to minors, each one a class A misdemeanor punishable by up to one year in jail and a fine up to $2,000. Kerperien began teaching at Ridgewood Middle, 1401 Ridgewood School Road, between Arnold and Fenton, at the start of the 2020-2021 school year, and she resigned on Feb. 1, the district reported.” [MyLeader]
Report: Students Claim Kerperien Sent Them Photos Via Snapchat. According to documents filed in court, three juveniles allegedly received a photo through Snapchat of Kerperien lying naked on her stomach in a pose that showed her buttocks exposed, and one of the juveniles claimed that he received a picture of Kerperien wearing a shirt and thong-style underwear through the same Snapchat account.
Police: Kerperien Facing Misdemeanor Charges. “”Investigators believe Kerperien sent the photos via social media to three separate juvenile individuals,” the sheriff’s office statement said. “Kerperien was issued a criminal summons and therefore was not booked or photographed at the Jefferson County Jail.” A spokesperson with the sheriff’s department said Kerperien was issued summons instead of being arrested because she faces only misdemeanor charges.” [KSDK]
School Officials: Kerperien Reported To Authorities After Allegation Made. “Upon learning of the allegations made against this former staff member, district officials immediately began an investigation and reported the allegations to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s (Office) and the Department of Child and Family Services. The individual was immediately placed on leave. Throughout the investigation, the district has cooperated and will continue to fully cooperate with law enforcement officials.” [School District Statement]
Kerperien Taught 8th Grade Math. “Kerperien was listed as an eighth grade math teacher on Ridgewood Middle School’s website as of Monday afternoon. The middle school is part of Jefferson County’s Fox C-6 School District. However, the school district said in a letter to parents on Monday that the “former employee” submitted a resignation letter on Feb. 1, which the district’s board of education accepted.” [St Louis Post Dispatch]
