
Thitisan Utthanaphon (aka Jo Ferrari) is a 39 year old police officer from Thailand. Utthanaphon and accomplices have been accused of torturing and killing a man in the city of Nakhon Sawan.
Police searched his mansion in Bangkok as part of the investigation.
Utthanaphon Fired After Torture Video Appeared On Facebook. “Thitisan, 39, was removed as Muang police chief and sacked from the force on Tuesday after a video showing a man being suffocated to death with a plastic bag over his head was posted on Facebook, and rapidly went viral.” [Bangkok Post]
Utthanaphon Surrendered In Myanmar. “Fugitive Pol Col Thitisan Utthanaphon, aka Jo Ferrari, has surrendered himself in Myanmar, according to police sources. He was reportedly brought across the border to Mae Sot in Tak province from adjacent Myawaddy on Thursday evening.” [Bangkok Post]
Report: Video Showed Bribery Attempt. “CCTV footage posted online appears to show the suspect being ordered to pay $60,000 to have charges dropped before he is suffocated with a plastic bag.” [BBC]
Five Cops Arrested As Part Of Investigation. “All five suspects in custody, including a major and a captain, were brought before a judge who was to rule on whether they should be held on charges of dereliction of duty, torture and murder.” [ABC]
