Leduc Arrested, Accused Of Affair. “The Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Office said on Tuesday, Feb. 21, deputies responded to a concerning call in regards to 26-year-old Paige Leduc, a teacher in the Okeechobee County School District. The complaint alleged that Leduc had or is having a romantic relationship with a minor. Deputies said while investigating the claim, deputies learned that Leduc and the minor met on school grounds. A romantic relationship then began, and continued until the two became sexually involved.” [CBS]

Police: Leduc Met Alleged Victim While Doing Community Service. “The arrest report states that LeDuc and the victim met at South Elementary School while she was doing community service two years ago. The report also says, LeDuc moved to Central Elementary School and started an art club on Saturday’s at her residence. The victim would go to LeDuc’s residence to help her. Deputies interviewed the victims parents and asked if they suspected their daughter may have been in an intimate relationship with LeDuc and they both said no. According to the arrest report the victim indicated that she would go to LeDuc’s residence 2-3 times a week. It was also revealed that the two would go out of town together, but the victims friend was normally in attendance.” [CBS]

Leduc Relieved Of Classroom Duties. “Leduc faces a charge of unlawful sexual activity with a minor. “The district received information of alleged behavior of an employee impacting the health, safety and welfare of a student,” the schol district posted on Facebook. “Following protocol, the district immediately reported the alleged incident to both the Department of Children and Families and the Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Department. The District then relieved the teacher from classroom duties and reassigned her to another position without contact with students.”” [WFLX]
