Nicole Lorraine Linton Allegations
Linton Charged With Murder After Car Crash. “Linton, a nurse from Houston, was arrested Friday while she was hospitalized for moderate injuries she sustained in the crash, CBS Los Angeles reports. She was taken into custody Monday at the Lynwood Century Regional Detention Center and is being held on $9 million bail, according to CBS Los Angeles. “Today, we begin the process of holding accountable the person responsible for the deaths of six people, including a pregnant woman, and their families,” District Attorney George Gascón said in a statement Monday. “This is a case that will always be remembered for the senseless loss of so many innocent lives as they simply went about their daily routines.”” [CBS]
Police: Linton Was Driving 100mph. “Police said Linton slammed her car into five other vehicles while driving as fast as 100 mph by an intersection at Windsor Hills. LA County DA George Gascón revealed during a press conference Monday there was no evidence Linton was under the influence of alcohol during the time of the crash. She was released from the hospital Sunday and is now held at the Century Regional Detention Center in Lynwood, California on a $9 million bond.” [Daily Mail]
Pregnant Woman Killed In Crash. “Asherey Ryan, who was pregnant, died in the crash, as did her 11-month-old son Allonzo, and her boyfriend Reynold Lester. The family was reportedly heading to a prenatal checkup at the time of the collision. Two other women were killed in the crash. They have not yet been publicly identified.” [NY Post]
Video Shows Accident, Witness Alleged Linton Was Drinking. “Video footage shows the car speeding through a red light in a 35 mph zone and crashing into another vehicle that exploded into flames. A car also collided with a gas station sign on the corner of the intersection. One witness alleged that Linton was drinking prior to the crash, suggesting she may have been under the influence at the time. “I know that some of you spoke to a woman that alleged they have been drinking together. The CHP is working to identify this person, but we don’t have any further information,” Los Angeles County Dist. Atty. George Gascón said, according to the Times.” [Blavity]
DA: Crash Caused Catastrophic Damage To Families. “This is a case that will always be remembered for the senseless loss of so many innocent lives as they simply went about their daily routines. While the wreckage of this fiery crash at this intersection was removed and traffic eventually resume, there is catastrophic damage to the families and friends of those killed and injured. It is not only a tremendous loss to the families but our entire community who learned of this incredible tragedy or have watched the now viral video of the collision.” [District Attorney George Gascón]
Prosecutors: Linton Had 13 Prior Car Accidents. “Prosecutors alleged that Linton had been involved in 13 car crashes – both in and out of the state of California – before Thursday’s wreck, the Los Angeles Times reported. They noted one in 2020 involved bodily injury and two cars being totaled but did not elaborate with more information. Linton’s attorney, Halim Dhanidina, requested that the arraignment be continued until October to allow time to review the nurse’s out-of-state history of “documented profound mental health issues,” according to the Times.” [Fox]
