
Michael Worsham is a man from Chesapeake, Virginia. Worsham won a lottery jackpot of $1 million in 2021 from a scratch-off ticket after winning a $2.5 million jackpot in 2014.
Worsham Won Jackpot Twice. “A Virginia man who collected a $2.5 million lottery jackpot in 2014 found lightning sometimes strikes twice when he scored a $1 million price from a scratch-off ticket.” [UPI]
Initially Thought He Won $100. ““I thought maybe I’d won a hundred dollars,” he told Lottery officials as he redeemed his winning ticket. “I looked at it again and said, ‘This is a million!’” He bought his winning ticket at the 7-Eleven at 1488 Butts Station Road in Chesapeake.” [VA Lottery]
Worsham Chose Cash Payout. “Worsham had the option of taking the full $1 million over the course of 30 years or taking a one-time cash option of $657,030 before taxes. He chose the cash option. The store receives a $10,000 bonus from the Virginia Lottery for selling the winning ticket.” [13 News]
