Mehmet Berk Bozuyuk Arrested. “State law enforcement began searching for online CSAM distributors in July 2024. As part of that operation, detectives found a chat room where they were connected to a site that distributes CSAM. Detectives purchased over 6 terabytes of CSAM, including 1.2 million videos, for $100. Those videos featured children as young as infants and “heinous types of sexual brutality,” including necrophilia, sexual battery and molestation, according to the attorney general’s office. After Florida officials shut down the site, they were contacted by national and international law enforcement agencies who were also investigating it. The eight people arrested all reside in the United States, but officials are also seeking to extradite the alleged leader of the operation, identified as Mehmet Berk Bozuyuk of Turkey. Uthmeier said Bozuyuk is a married father of two children.” [News8]
Bozuyuk Accused Of Using Multiple Identities. ““Bozuyuk used several identities that he stole from innocent citizens in many countries,” the release continues. “Using the stolen identities, Bozuyuk facilitated the global sale and distribution of CSAM through money mules like Modi, and Ximena Maqueda, an Oregon resident.” The investigation into this crime ring required FDLE agents to work with several global law enforcement agencies — including police in Montreal, Canada — to identify the crime syndicate’s associates and victims, state officials declared.” [6 News]
