Matthew Kaigle is a 33 year old man from Burlington, Vermont. He is currently wanted by police in Burlington after allegedly assaulting multiple people, including a police officer that he reportedly slapped after a traffic stop.
Police have been criticized for their decision not to chase Kaigle, who is white, citing his alleged history of violence. Kaigle was previously accused of committing a hate crime.

Kaigle Accused Of Slapping Cop, Threatening To Stab Construction Worker. “Investigators say Matthew Kaigle, 33, of Burlington, was stopped in traffic on Flynn Avenue Wednesday when he got out and yelled at flaggers and slapped one of them. He’s then accused of threatening to stab the workers with a hunting knife, before taking off in a white Chevy truck.” [WCAX]
