Yamashita Arrested, Accused Of Abuse. “According to a probable cause affidavit, Yamashita had sexual contact multiple times with the victim, a 16-year-old girl. Many of those alleged instances occurred while the coach and girl were traveling to club wrestling tournaments on trips not affiliated with Camas High School. Police were contacted after the girl told another wrestler she had been raped May 8 at a hotel in Woodinville, the affidavit states.” [The Columbian]
Yamashita Pleaded Not Guilty. “On May 13, 2022, Yamashita made his first court appearance. Represented by Vancouver attorney Steve Thayer, the former Camas High School girls wrestling head coach entered a not-guilty plea when he was arraigned on May 20, 2022. Yamashita’s pre-trial readiness will be on July 21, 2022. His trial will be on August 1, 2022.” [Conan Daily]
