Johnson Arrested, Accused Of Assault. “Mark Johnson Jr., 34, was arrested Friday and charged with two counts of each charge when he was booked into the Greensboro Central Jail, according to online arrest records. He is being held without bond. Johnson began working at the school on Aug. 16, 2022 and resigned effective Wednesday, according to information provided by Guilford County Schools. District spokeswoman Gabrielle Brown said she could not provide any other details, such as what Johnson’s roles were at the school or whether he has worked at other GCS schools.” [News & Record]
DA Report: Text Messages Found Between Johnson, Teen. “The mother of one of the students found messages on her daughter’s phone between her daughter and Johnson. According to the DA’s office, the messages show that the daughter left her home one night to meet Johnson. The mother made school authorities aware and then law enforcement got involved and started an investigation. Johnson was put on leave from school. A search warrant was applied and investigators found that Johnson deleted messages off of his phone between him and female students.” [WFMY]
