Wilson Killed, Marshals Seeking Armstrong. “Mo Wilson, 25, was pronounced dead at her friend’s home in East Austin, Texas, at 10.10pm after suffering several gunshot wounds, according to a police affidavit. The US Marshal Service has issued an arrest warrant, charging Kaitlin Marie Armstrong, 34, with first degree murder. The affidavit states that Armstrong and Wilson had both been romantically involved with another professional cyclist, Colin Strickland.” [Sky News]
US Marshals: Armstrong Is Wanted Suspect. “Police responding to a call at the East Austin residence discovered Wilson bleeding and unconscious from multiple gunshot wounds. They performed CPR on her, but she was pronounced dead at the scene. The Austin Police Department requested assistance from the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force – Austin Division to locate and apprehend Armstrong, who is an Austin resident. Members of the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force are actively conducting a fugitive investigation and pursuing leads on the whereabouts of Armstrong.” [US Marshals]
Gunshots Not Heard At Murder Site. “Neighbors who live next to the Texas apartment where cyclist Moriah ‘Mo’ Wilson was staying say they didn’t hear any gunshots on the night of her murder – and believe her killer may have used a silencer to carry out the attack. Wilson, 25, was found dead in an apartment in Austin on May 11 shortly after going swimming with fellow cyclist Colin Strickland. Strickland’s girlfriend, yoga teacher Kaitlin Armstrong is currently on the run after being charged with Wilson’s murder.” [Daily Mail]
Murder Reportedly Connected To Affair. “In a police interview the day after Wilson’s death, Strickland told detectives that he and his girlfriend, Kaitlin Armstrong, had been dating for three years and lived together. The two took a “break” for “one or two” weeks in October 2021, which is when Strickland met Wilson and they started a romantic relationship. Strickland allegedly told investigators that he changed Wilson’s name in his phone so his girlfriend would not know who he was speaking to, and deleted text messages.” [SF Gate]
