Jorge “George” Abrego Charged. “Jorge “George” Abrego, who is a co-owner of HTX Tacitcal, has been charged with online impersonation and unlawful production of sexually explicit videos, according to KPRC 2 News in Houston. Abrego allegedly created fake TikTok accounts impersonating a Houston-area influencer who has more than 300,000 followers on Instagram and 90,000 on TikTok. He is accused of using a similar username with slight variations to dupe users, police records state. The woman told the Houston County Sheriff’s Office that Abrego previously asked her out and told her he was “in love with her,” according to police records.” [Yahoo]
Report: Abrego Confessed. “According to court documents, Abrego, 37, admitted to creating multiple fake social media accounts impersonating the victim. He also admitted to creating fake nude images using AI or Photoshop. The same number used to create the fake account was traced back to Abrego. As part of his bond conditions, Abrego is prohibited from owning or using a firearm, is barred from possessing any form of pornography and is ordered not to access social media sites. Abrego is currently out under a $10,000 bond. Following Abrego’s arrest, HTX Tactical released a statement and said Abrego’s alleged actions do not represent the company.” [HPM]
