
Gabor Berczi-Tomcsanyi is a 45 year old man from Hungary who was reported missing in July. Police now believe that his body has been found in Grand Canyon National Park.
Rangers say his body was found at Yavapai Point after a massive search.
Berczi-Tomcsanyi Found Dead In Grand Canyon. “According to National Park Service personnel, a body was found below Yavapai Point after a multi-day search and rescue operation. Rangers say the body was found about 430 feet below the rim and was transferred to the Coconino County Medical Examiner’s Office.” [ABC 4]
Reported Missing In July. “Gabor Berczi-Tomcsanyi, 45, a Hungarian national, is believed to have traveled to the South Rim on or around July 19, 2021. On August 9, 2021, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Detectives contacted Grand Canyon rangers and shortly thereafter, rangers were able to locate Berczi-Tomcsanyi’s vehicle at the Grand Canyon Visitor Center. He is described as a white male, 6’00″ in height, 176 pounds, with brown eyes and brown hair.” [NPS]
Berczi-Tomcsanyi Was On Tour Of US Southwest. “Gabor Berczi-Tomcsanyi, 45, is believed to have visited the Grand Canyon on July 19 as one of the many stops he had scheduled on a long trip across the Southwest. ” [12 News]
Over 600 People Have Died In Grand Canyon. “About 685 over the years, the authors write, though that could be understated somewhat due to missing records and lack of recordkeeping in cases where someone was injured at the Canyon but died elsewhere, such as at a hospital.” [AZ Daily Sun]
