Fabian Albert Hernandez is a 31 year old man from Corvallis, Oregon. Police have accused Hernandez of murdering his girlfriend Kaylee Birdzell and abusing her corpse, which was left in a landfill.

Hernandez Accused Of Murdering Kaylee Birdzell. “During the initial investigation on August 7, detectives contacted 31-year-old Fabian Albert Hernandez, who had been in a relationship with Birdzell. He was arrested that day on unrelated charges of identity theft and fraudulent use of a credit card. He remained in jail, and on August 10, detectives added charges of murder in the second degree and abuse of a corpse. Police: Birdzell Murdered, Body Found In Landfill. “On August 5, 2022, the Sheriff’s Office took a missing person report from the family of 27-year-old Kaylee Birdzell. On August 7, deputies got information that Birdzell had been murdered and her body was put into the garbage at a local apartment complex. Detectives with the Violent Crimes Unit responded, and the investigation led them to believe Birdzell had been killed. Detectives worked with a local waste management company to coordinate a search of the garbage from the apartment complex. That search was done on August 9 at a landfill in Benton County. Detectives found Birdzell’s body and worked with the Benton County Medical Examiner’s office to have the remains taken to the Oregon State Medical Examiner in Clackamas for an autopsy.” [Washington County Sheriff’s Office]
Police: Garbage From Apartment Traced To Landfill Where Body Was Found. “Working with waste management crews, detectives searched the garbage from the apartment building, which by then had ended up at the Coffin Butte Landfill in Benton County. “It is a large facility. There was a couple of semi trucks full of the garbage and they were able to get investigators out there, and they just took the tedious task of going through the garbage bit by bit and doing everything they could to help solve this case,” said Sgt. Danny DiPietro with WCSO. During the search, detectives found Birdzell’s body. They had her remains taken to the Oregon State Medical Examiner in Clackamas. An autopsy was done on Wednesday, confirming that it was Birdzell and that her death had been a homicide.” [KGW]
