Leakey Arrested In North Carolina, Charged With Assault. “The Currituck County Sheriff’s Office arrested fugitive 60-year-old Dean Lakey of Henrico, Virginia, on September 2, 2021, in Currituck, North Carolina. Mr. Lakey was taken into custody and is held with no bond at the Currituck County Detention Center until his extradition to Henrico County is granted. Lakey was wanted for indictments for one count of rape, two counts of forcible sodomy, and three counts of indecent liberties with a minor as a custodian.” [Currituck County Sheriff’s Office]

Police: Crime Occurred In 2016-2017 School Year. “Henrico County Police Detectives opened an investigation based on Child Protective Services providing a tip to law enforcement. The incident under investigation occurred during the 2016-2017 school year.” [WTVR]
