Christopher Thompson Charged. “Susquehanna Regional Police have now confirmed that the teacher involved was 49-year-old Christopher Thompson, an educator for Donegal High School. During their investigation and multiple interviews, authorities say they determined that Thompson did in fact have unlawful contact with a student at the school.” [Local 21]

Police Received Tip Leading To Arrest, Charges. “On March 10, 2023, SRPD officer’s received a report of a possible sex offense that occurred at the Donegal High School between a student and a teacher. Upon further investigation and numerous interviews, it was determined that the teacher did make unlawful contact with the student to a degree that warranted charges. THOMPSON was charged with Unlawful Contact with a Minor, Indecent Assault and Corruption of minors and was arraigned on the charges. Thompson Facing Multiple Charges. “Police said after numerous interviews and an investigation, they decided that Christopher Thompson, 49, made unlawful contact with the student that warranted charges. He faces the following charges: Unlawful contact with minor – sexual offense. Corruption of minors. Indecent assault of a person less than 16 years of age.” [WGAL]

Criminal Complaint: Boy Told Police Thompson Squeezed Buttocks. “According to Thompson’s criminal complaint, the boy told police that on March 10, Thompson put his hands on the boy’s shoulders, ran his fingers down the boy’s back and then squeezed his buttocks. The boy quickly turned to Thompson and said, “you touched my butt,” to which he said Thompson apologized. The boy left Thompson’s classroom, initially to go to the emotional support classroom, but then called his mother, who picked him up. The boy spoke to police that afternoon. The boy told police that Thompson was initially hesitant to let him go to the emotional support classroom, but the boy has a pass that allows him to go as needed.” [LNP]

Donegal School District Aware Of Charges Against Thompson, Teacher Put On Leave. “The Donegal School District was advised today by the Susquehanna Regional Police Department that criminal charges have been filed against one of our teachers. While we do not typically comment on personnel or legal matters, we believe this situation necessitates the sharing of some information. On the afternoon of June 6, 2023, the Susquehanna Regional Police Department shared with the School District the likely prospect that criminal charges may be filed against this teacher in the future. Immediately after learning this information, the School District placed the teacher on administrative leave and restricted the teacher from being on school property. The teacher will remain on administrative leave until the conclusion of this case. We are fully cooperating with the Susquehanna Regional Police Department and the District Attorney’s Office. We will refrain from making any further public comment on this matter at this time due to this being an open criminal case.
