Ashkan Amirsoleymani is a 35 year old man from Encino, California. Police have accused Amirsoleymani of an attack at the Encino Hospital Medical Center, stabbing a doctor and two nurses.
Ashkan Amirsoleymani Allegations
Amirsoleymani Arrested, Accused Of Hospital Attack. “Ashkan Amirsoleymani, 35, has been booked on three counts of attempted murder related to Friday’s attack, the Los Angeles Police Department said on Twitter. He is being held on $3 million bail. It was not immediately clear on Saturday whether he had an attorney who could speak on his behalf and the district attorney’s office did not respond to an email asking whether charges have been filed. Police have not yet disclosed Amirsoleymani’s motive and Los Angeles Police Officer Rosario Cervantes said no other information was available Saturday.” [AP]
Witness: Stabbing Scene Was “Bloodbath.” ““There was blood all over the floor, blood in the rooms, blood on the gurney the doctor was laying on,” he added. “It was a bloodbath.” A tall man wearing a blue flannel shirt and holding a knife was calmly pacing around, he said. He entered a small room that appeared to be a storage area, and Saadat ran up behind him and closed the door, he said. “A nurse came and helped me hold the door, and then a security guard came,” he said. “We asked them to hold the door closed.” The man did not try to push his way out but stood over a sink, possibly wiping his knife, he said.” [LA Times]
Police: Amirsoleymani Claimed He Was In Car Crash. “A police spokesperson Friday said Amirsoleymani had gone to the hospital to seek treatment for injuries suffered in a car crash, although police were unable to find any evidence that a crash had actually occurred. Two of the people injured in the stabbing have been released from the hospital, police said, while the third remains hospitalized in stable condition.” [KTLA]
