Anthony York is a 20 year old man from Indianapolis, Indiana. Police have accused York of murdering Da’Tara Johnson, an 18 year old woman who was killed in January 2022.

York Arrested, Accused Of Murdering Da’Tara Johnson. “Anthony York of Indianapolis is currently being held in Phoenix, where he was arrested Feb. 10 on outstanding warrants out of Indianapolis issued in August 2021, according to a news release from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department. He was charged Wednesday with murder and possession of a handgun without a license, online court records show.” [ABC]
Johnson Found Dead In January. “On Sunday, January 16, 2022, IMPD Southeast District officers were dispatched to a report of a person shot at 4128 Creek Way. Upon arrival, officers located a woman, later identified as Da’Tara Johnson, with injuries consistent with a gunshot wound. Indianapolis Emergency Medical Services (IEMS) arrived and determined Johnson was deceased.” [IMPD]
York Went To Phoeniz, AZ After Murder. “Through various investigative techniques, homicide detectives were able to identify Anthony York as the alleged suspect. York was wanted for two warrants in Marion County that were issued in August of 2021. The IMPD Violence Crimes Unit (VCU), in coordination with the US Marshals Service, learned York was staying in the Phoenix, Arizona area. The warrants initially did not allow extradition from Arizona; however, detectives worked to change the extradition distance to ensure York could be extradited to Indianapolis should he be taken into custody.” [IMPD]
Phoenix SWAT Arrested York. “On February 10, 2022, the Phoenix Police Department Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team arrested York on his warrants. IMPD Homicide detectives were on the scene and continued the investigation while in Phoenix, AZ, which included interviews and collecting items of possible evidence with the assistance of Phoenix Homicide.” [IMPD]
