Marvel Snap is a collectible card game for both the PC and mobile (Android/iPhone) platforms featuring characters from the Marvel Universe. Marvel describes the game as “The fastest card battler in the multiverse! Build your MARVEL dream team in this fast-paced, action-packed, collectible card game coming to Mobile and PC.”

There is not yet an official release date for Marvel Snap, but Marvel and the developer said in the May 19 2022 reveal video that the Beta will be available “soon.”

Marvel Snap was developed by Nuverse, a company known for creating mobile games. Nuverse has created games like Figure Story, Ragnarok X, Warhammer 40,000: Lost Crusade, Eden No Tobira, Flower, Sonic At The Olympic Games, and One Piece Blood Routes. The game was also developed by the company Second Dinner, created by developers who created the popular collectible card game Hearthstone.

Ben Brode was the lead designer of Hearthstone and now leads Second Dinner.

How Is Marvel Snap Different From Other CCGs?

Marvel Snap games will be about 3 minutes long, according to the developers. Both players of the game will play simultaneously and there is no waiting for each player to play the game. Marvel Snap will have games with 50 and 12 card decks, compared to traditional 60 card decks for other collectible card games. Marvel says that smaller decks will make it easier for players to build a deck, leading to more fun games.

In Marvel Snap, players compete to receive Cosmic Cubes. If players believe they have a card advantage over their opponent, they will be able to use a “snap” and double the stakes of Cosmic Cubes that can be won in a match.

The characters in Marvel Snap also use iconic tag lines associated with the Marvel characters. For instance, the Human Torch will say “flame on” when his card is used in the game and the Hulk will say “Hulk smash.”
