Police in Minnesota arrested a nonviolent CNN reporter live on air on Friday morning.
The reporter, Omar Jimenez, was reporting on the protests and rioting in Minneapolis following the killing of George Floyd.
The arrest was done by Minnesota State Police.
CNN slammed the arrest in a release: “A CNN reporter & his production team were arrested this morning in Minneapolis for doing their jobs, despite identifying themselves – a clear violation of their First Amendment rights. The authorities in Minnesota, incl. the Governor, must release the 3 CNN employees immediately.”
