Chatham County Police Arrest Man For Kroger Rape. “CCPD was called out to the Berwick Marketplace Kroger on Ogeechee Road around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. Chatham County Police Department Lieutenant Anthony Gallo tells us the incident happened inside the grocery store. One man was arrested and charged with rape, kidnapping, and battery.” [WTOC]
Gregory Hathorne Arrested. “Police arrested Gregory Hathorne, 25, Tuesday evening near the Kroger located at 5720 Ogeechee Road. He now faces charges of felony rape, felony kidnapping and misdemeanor battery. Hathorne allegedly followed the victim into the women’s restroom at the grocery store, where he sexually assaulted her.” [WSAV]
Witnesses Heard Woman Screaming In Kroger. “Chatham County Police Department officers were called to the Kroger grocery store located at 5720 Ogeechee Road on Tuesday, April 27, 2021, at approximately 6:30 p.m. to respond to a sexual assault. The victim is an adult female who told police she was attacked and sexually assaulted by a stranger in the Kroger restroom. Witnesses told police they heard the woman’s screams, and several people in the store chased the suspect as he attempted to flee the area. The suspect was restrained by citizens in the shopping plaza until police arrived on the scene. The victim was transported to a local hospital, and is receiving services from the Rape Crisis Center. ” [Chatham County Police]
