People Are Doing Weird Things With Nicki Minaj’s Wax Figure

The Nicki Minaj wax figure at Madame Tussauds Las Vegas just debuted a few weeks ago, but it’s already creating problems.

The statute, based on Minaj’s video for “Anaconda,” shows her on all fours with her rear end in the air, and as a result visitors without any impulse control have begun posing in a variety of sexual scenarios with the statue.

Some posed for Instagram, Facebook and Twitter pictures while grabbing at the simulated Minaj’s buttocks and breasts, while others have just been draping themselves all over the figure.

But it gets worse. In one instance a man hoisted himself up on to the platform with the figure, and re-enacted a sexual pose as he stood behind Minaj.

After the photo got out on social media, Madame Tussauds had to ring the alarm.

The museum issued a press release noting that the configuration of the display had been re-arranged to prevent the torrent of exploitative photographs. The museum said, “We have been made aware of the inappropriate photograph that was taken at Madame Tussauds Las Vegas, involving Nicki Minaj’s new wax figure” They go on to note: “Madame Tussauds attractions are interactive, immersive experiences, and our visitors are generally respectful towards the wax figures. It is unfortunate that this visitor decided to behave so inappropriately and we apologise for any offence this has caused.”

“We are taking immediate steps to ensure more staff are present in this area and that the set around this particular figure is redesigned so that a picture like this cannot be taken again.”

When the figure was first revealed, Minaj posted that she was disappointed that the museum hadn’t asked her to come to its unveiling, since it looked so much like her. After this instance of real life creeps acting out their fantasies for the social media crowd yet again, maybe she’s better off having skipped the whole thing after all.
