Mitch McConnell is a Republican senator from Kentucky. McConnell served as the Majority Leader of the U.S. Senate. His term as Majority Leader will expire in 2020 when Democrats take control of the Senate.
Second Trump Impeachment
McConnell reportedly supports the second impeachment of Donald Trump. He opposed impeaching Trump in 2019-2020.
Sabotaging Biden
McConnell has taken up several actions designed to sabotage the presidency of Joe Biden. McConnell did not schedule timely confirmation hearings for Biden’s nominees for his Cabinet. Because of McConnell’s actions, it is unlikely Biden will have his whole cabinet in place when he is sworn in. McConnell’s tactics were a departure from the past, when other Senate leaders have confirmed Cabinet nominees in a timely manner.
