Hale Shot Five Times By Police During Carjacking Investigation. “Missouri cops shot a woman five times as she tried to flee getting arrested for a suspected armed carjacking — even though she had shown that she was unarmed and told them that she was pregnant, according to a horrified witness. “They shot her! Oh my God they shot her!” a woman repeatedly cried out in footage she filmed in the aftermath of Friday night’s officer-involved shooting in Kansas City.” [NY Post]
Police Claim Carjacking Report Triggered Shooting. “KCKPD had dispatched over-the-air about an alleged armed carjacking that happened, providing a thorough description and license plate. KCMO officers then spotted the vehicle with two suspects inside at the parking lot of the Family Dollar near 7th and Prospect. Two police vehicles with two officers approached the suspect vehicle. At that point, the male driver ran away northeast and two officers pursued. The female passenger in the suspect vehicle, identified as 26-year-old Leonna Hale, then got out and fled into the parking lot.” [KCTV]
Witnesses Say Hale Did Not Use Weapon. “Dramatic footage shows Hale being cuffed on the ground as she started to bleed from gunshot wounds at a Family Dollar store in Kansas City.
