Ismael (Izzy) Kalani Vaifoou is a player for Utah State University (USU) who has been accused of assaulting a woman on the dorm while he was drunk, allegedly crawling into her bed.

Vaifoou Arrested For Alleged Crime On USU Campus. “USU football player Ismael “Izzy” Vaifo’ou was arrested this morning by USU Police and is under suspicion of forcible sex abuse, burglary, criminal trespass and intoxication. The alleged crimes took place at on-campus housing, according to Amanda DeRito, USU spokesperson.” [Utah Statesman]
Woman: Vaifoou Entered Her Room. “According to arresting documents, one woman reported she was woken up by doors opening and closing coming from inside the suite. Vaifoou then entered her room and took a step towards her bed and she said “who the hell are you” at which point, police say Vaifoou left. The roommate then reported Vaifoou entered her bedroom while she was asleep and she awoke to find him laying in her bed next to her in only his underwear.” [ABC 4]
Witnesses Identified Vaifoou. “Multiple witnesses identified Vaifo’ou as the person they saw entering multiple suites in the building. However, they said they didn’t know him personally but recognized him as someone who also lived there. When police spoke to the suspect, they said he smelled of alcohol and showed signs of impairment.” [Fox 13]
Cops: He Admitted Assault. “During the interview process, officials said Vaifoou admitted to entering the apartment, taking off his clothing down to his underwear, getting in bed with a girl and laying next to her. “He stated that he then touched her breasts, vagina and butt,” read the PC statement.” [KSL TV]
Vaifoou Booked On Multiple Felony Charges. “Ismael Kalani Vaifoou was booked on suspicion of:
- Forcible sexual abuse, a second-degree felony
- Burglary of a dwelling, a second-degree felony
- Two counts of criminal trespass within a dwelling, a class A misdemeanor
- Intoxication, a class C misdemeanor
Campus police were notified in the early hours of Sunday that a sexual assault had been reported on campus.” [Gephardt Daily]
