Enrique Tarrio is the head of the right-wing group Proud Boys, who styles itself as a militia supporting Donald Trump. On January 4 2021, Tarrio was arrested in advance of a planned “Stop the Steal” election rally in Washington DC scheduled for January 6.

Tarrio is the “chairman” of Proud Boys and was the Florida chair for Latinos for Trump.

Tarrio Arrested For Burning Black Lives Matter Banner. “Police stopped a vehicle Tarrio had been in shortly after it entered the District, said Dustin Sternbeck, a D.C. police spokesman. He said it is believed that Tarrio, who lives in Miami, was coming into the District from the airport. Sternbeck said Tarrio is charged with one misdemeanor count of destruction of property in connection with the Dec. 12 burning of a banner stolen from Asbury United Methodist Church.” [Washington Post]

He joked that “They’re for me,” and then, sounding confused, asked the driver of the car he was riding in to pull over.
