
Britney Spears is under investigation (by the Ventura County, California Sheriff’s Office) after a housekeeper claimed she slapped a telephone out of her hand.
The house where the alleged incident occurred is Spears’ house in Thousand Oaks, California, which is about 40 miles outside of Los Angeles.
Housekeeper: Britney Spears Slapped Phone Out Of My Hands. “The employee claims that Spears, who has been embroiled in a court battle over ending her conservatorship, confronted her when she returned to the house. Spears allegedly slapped the housekeeper’s phone out of the woman’s hands. The housekeeper initially called deputies to the house, and then went to a sheriff’s station to file a report. The employee was not hurt.” [NBC]
Britney Spears Source Denies Claim. “A source connected to Britney denies there was any physical altercation, and claims the Sheriff’s Dept. assured Brit’s camp the case would go nowhere.” [TMZ]
Police Confirm Investigation. “Capt. Eric Buschow confirms to PEOPLE that the singer is the suspect in a battery investigation after an employee reported that Spears, 39, “struck them during a dispute” inside her home.” [People]
Spears Lawyer Mathew Rosengart Slams Reports. “Spears’ attorney, Mathew Rosengart, called the dispute “overblown sensational tabloid fodder — nothing more than a manufactured ‘he said she said’ regarding a cell phone.” He added that there was “no striking and obviously no injury whatsoever.” “Anyone can make an accusation but this should have been closed immediately,” Rosengart said.” [Variety]
Spears Called Police To Report Theft Before Slapping Incident. “The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office received the call just before 6 p.m. PT on Aug. 10. However, after police arrived at the pop star’s mansion in Thousand Oaks, Calif., she decided not to pursue action.” [Page Six]
