AnnaLynne McCord Has Dissociative Identity Disorder. “AnnaLynne McCord is not ashamed to admit she struggles with mental health problems — specifically revealing her diagnosis for dissociative identity disorder. The former “Nip/Tuck” and “90201” star announced she has what used to be commonly referred to as multiple personality disorder during a sit-down interview with Amen Clinics founder Dr. Daniel Amen.” [TMZ]
McCord Not Ashamed Of Condition. “”There is nothing about my journey that I invite shame into anymore,” McCord, 33, continued. “And that’s how we get to the point where we can articulate the nature of these pervasive traumas and stuff, as horrible as they are.”” [People]
Acting Roles Revealed “Splits” In Identity. ““All of my roles were splits, but I didn’t even realize I was doing it at all until I did a project ‘90210,’” she said of the teen drama she was on for five years. It wasn’t until her 2012 project, “Excision,” that she realized something was off because she “couldn’t get out” of the character she was playing.” [PageSix]
History Of Abuse
McCord Was Abused As A Child. “McCord has been candid over the years about her past traumas, opening up to Us Weekly in 2019 about undergoing eye movement desensitization and reprocessing therapy (EMDR) to help her overcome and process past sexual abuse she experienced as a child.” [US Weekly]
Abuse Led To Memory Loss. “She discussed her memory loss regarding such traumatic events in the recent interview, explaining, “I don’t have anything until around 5. Then from 5 to 11, I recount incidents throughout. Then when I was 13, I have a singled-out memory that was one thing, but I don’t have the sense of anything else at that time.”” [Yahoo]
Abuse Inspired Her To Activism. “After sharing her past trauma in Cosmopolitan, going public about her sexual assault opened a door for AnnaLynne McCord that led to a new role as an activist. As she told Bode Magazine, she became aware of Somaly Mam and her organization Together1Heart. Mam’s charity focuses on women and girls in Cambodia who have been the victims of sex trafficking, offering support services ranging from psychological care and therapy to vocational skills training.” [Nicki Swift]
