Allen H. Weisselberg Arrest And Trial: Facts And Photos You Need

Tracking the arrest and trial of Trump Organization CFO Allen H. Weisselberg.

Weisselberg Arrested, Charged With Financial Crimes. “The Trump Organization, the real estate business that catapulted Donald J. Trump to tabloid fame, television riches and ultimately the White House, was charged Thursday with running a 15-year scheme to help executives avoid paying taxes by compensating them off the books. The Manhattan district attorney’s office, which has been conducting the investigation, also accused a top executive, Allen H. Weisselberg, of dodging taxes on $1.7 million in perks that should have been reported as income. Mr. Weisselberg, Mr. Trump’s long-serving and trusted chief financial officer, faced grand larceny, tax fraud and other charges.” [NY Times]

Trump Admitted To Tax Scheme During Rally. “As Trump criticized the investigation, he appeared to acknowledge the tax schemes while questioning whether the alleged violations were in fact crimes. “They go after good, hard-working people for not paying taxes on a company car,” he said at a rally in Sarasota, Fla. “You didn’t pay tax on the car or a company apartment. You used an apartment because you need an apartment because you have to travel too far where your house is. You didn’t pay tax. Or education for your grandchildren. I don’t even know. Do you have to? Does anybody know the answer to that stuff?”” [Washington Post]

Former Trump Executive Claims She Was Told To Cook Books. “Former Trump Organization Vice President Barbara Res on Thursday revealed one story from her time at the company that echoes some of the allegations in the 15 count indictment against the company and CFO Allen Weisselberg.” [Raw Story]

Donald Trump Calls Investigation “Witch Hunt.” “You’re going to continue to see the former president describe this as a ‘witch hunt’ and describe this as a partisan investigation,” said Haberman. “Part of that is going to be [Manhattan DA] Cy Vance. Part of that is going to be because of the attorney general Letitia James in New York, who is also working on this case with Vance. But in reality, Donald Trump is not somebody who has sought to be indicted. He is not somebody who thought it was a good thing.”” [Raw Story]
