North Korea has reportedly been able to develop “miniaturised nuclear devices to fit into the warheads of its ballistic missiles,” a new United Nations report reveals.
The latest step forward for the rogue dictatorship comes after years of Donald Trump praising, hailing, and being photographed alongside its leader, Kim Jong-un.
The interim report, which has been submitted to the UN Security Council, also says, “The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea is continuing its nuclear program, including the production of highly enriched uranium and construction of an experimental light water reactor.”
After taking the presidency, Trump shifted the American posture towards North Korea, directly meeting with Kim instead of using intermediaries, as past American presidents from both parties had done in the past.
North Korea took advantage of the situation, producing propaganda videos of Trump’s meetings with North Korean leadership. At one meeting, Trump even gave a salute to a military officer from the oppressive North Korean regime, which has been widely condemned around the world for human rights abuses.
North Korea’s nuclear advances endanger key American allies like South Korea and Japan. North Korea has repeatedly made bellicose threats towards those nations. North Korea has also threatened America, particularly the state of Hawaii, which is the closest American soil to North Korea.
