David Pete Slaby is a 70 year old man from Ooltewah, Tennessee. Slaby was arrested in Rome, Georgia after allegedly threatening to cut a woman’s mask off while arguing about the COVID-19 virus.

David Pete Slaby is accused of pulling out a knife during an argument at a Walmart store in West Rome, Georgia
Jail records say Slaby pulled the knife out of his back pocket and then started waving it around in the face of the alleged victim.
Police say Slaby threatened the woman by saying he would cut her protective mask off her face.
When police found Slaby after a complaint had been made, he said “I know what this is about.”
Police say Slaby claimed that he was just joking, but knew what he had done was wrong.
Slaby was arrested by Rome, Georgia police and charged with aggravated assault.
