Republicans afraid of backlash from voters for supporting Trump, the Muslim ban, and the plan to destroy Obamacare, are making plans to hide from their anger at town hall events.

“House Republicans during a closed-door meeting Tuesday discussed safety precautions to protect themselves and their staff from anti-Obamacare repeal protesters storming town halls and offices, sources in the room told POLITICO.

House GOP Conference Chairwoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers invited Rep. David Reichert, a former police sheriff, to present lawmakers with protective measures they should have in place. Among the suggestions: having a physical exit strategy at town halls, or a backdoor in congressional offices to slip out of, in case demonstrations turn violent; having local police monitor town halls; replacing any glass office door entrances with heavy doors and deadbolts; and setting up intercoms to ensure those entering congressional offices are there for appointments, not to cause chaos.” [READ MORE]

Hey [email protected] this is what Democracy looks like. We’re coming for you unless you turn in Drumpf.

I think you’ve missed the key irony.

      In 2010 the Tea Party,
disrupted, interrupted, and generally made a hash, of Town Hall meetings
by Democratic Congressmen to explain Obamacare; to the great delight of
Fox or other persons eager to display the film.

Now the shoe is on the other foot and the Republicans are taking care to see that the reverse doesn’t happen.

And, just for it, whom do you want as the face of the Republican Party?
Trump, so easily mocked, with zero credibility, and even less
self-control? Or Pence whose major fault is to be deadly dull? Who is
better positioned to push, successfully, the RW agenda?

If they think voters will support an elected hiding from voters, think again.
