Paris Hilton has revealed that she voted for fellow reality television star Donald Trump in the 2016 presidential election.
Appearing on an Australian television show, The Project, Hilton said she has known Trump “since I was a little girl,” and that was why she voted for the bigoted candidate.
The socialite came to international prominence due to a sex tape and subsequent reality TV series, The Simple Life, where appeared with Lionel Richie’s daughter, Nicole Richie. Reality TV superstar Kim Kardashian once worked as Hilton’s assistant.
Hilton is the great-granddaughter of Conrad Hilton, the founder of Hilton Hotels. She has a reported net worth of approximately $100 million, much of that due to the fashion lines and fragrances she has endorsed.
Like Trump, Hilton’s name appears on real estate developments – three apartment complexes use the Paris Hilton brand. There are also 44 Paris Hilton stores selling branded merchandise like handbags, watches and footwear.
When asked if she would consider running for president she responded, “Sounds good. I like the ring to that. President Paris. I like that.”
