Ieshia Evans Is Woman In Iconic Black Lives Matter Protest Photo

Ieshia Evans has been identified as the woman appearing in a photo of a Black Lives Matter protest that quickly went viral. Evans, who is from New York, is a nurse’s assistant and mother to a five-year-old son.

She traveled to Baton Rouge, Louisiana for the protest after the killing of Alton Sterling by two policemen.

Daily Mail: “It is the photo seen around the world: A young woman in a flowing dress stood with her arms crossed facing down a line of heavily armed police while two armored officers rush forward to put her in handcuffs.

Now Dailymail.com can exclusively reveal that she is Ieshia Evans, 28, a mother and licensed practical nurse from New York, who was attending her first protest when she was arrested.
