How Hillary Clinton Is Building A Money Machine To Crush The Right

Hillary Clinton is building a fundraising juggernaut that could crush anything the Republicans have in mind. Ahead of the crucial 2016 election, the former Secretary of State is building up a campaign war chest to counter the millions and billions that will be backing whoever emerges as the Republican Party nominee.

Clinton is reportedly going beyond the main blue state sources of money for her campaign.

Those familiar with Clinton’s fundraising operation say she’s tapping smaller cities to avoid running dry in California and New York, which have only so many Hollywood producers and trial lawyers.

One source familiar with her schedule noted that many of the places Clinton is mining for cash are in Super Tuesday states, allowing her to double up with campaign events and fundraisers.

“Killing two birds,” summarized one Clinton fundraiser. “It’s a smart strategy on a couple of levels. It helps fundraising and the organizational structure.”

Money isn’t the only thing you need to win at politics – ask Jeb Bush, now in single digits after raising and spending more than any other Republican – but it’s an important tool in the arsenal to have.

Already right wing billionaires like Charles and David Koch and Sheldon Adelson have been licking their chops over the prospect of a Republican president doing what they demand in exchange for campaign support.

The Kochs and Adelson are ready to finance campaigns like Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz, even Donald Trump if they absolutely had to. It doesn’t matter, as long as they get the power they crave.

But in the last election those same money men effectively set their funds on fire in the failed attempt to prevent President Obama from being elected to a second term. So the money is not the end-all and be-all, but whoever the Democratic nominee is they’ll need millions to be a true contender, and Clinton isn’t lying down and playing dead.
