Consumers have filed a class action lawsuit against exercise gadget maker Fitbit.
The lawsuit claims that the heart rate monitors in Fitbit’s wristbands are not accurate. Specifically the lawsuit claims that the heart rate monitors on Fitbit’s “Charge HR” and “Surge” products are off by a “significant margin,” especially during periods of exercise.
Anyone who bought the Charge HR and Surge products from retailers other than Fitbit.com could be eligible for the class action lawsuit, if the filers get their way.
Fitbit shares dropped 15% on January 5, 2016, when the lawsuit was revealed.
