Who Is Cari Champion?

Cari Champion is an anchor for ESPN’s SportsCenter and sports journalist. Previously she was the host of First Take, on ESPN 2. She is host of the sports podcast “Be Honest with Cari Champion.” Champion became an ESPN anchor in July 2015.

She was born in June of 1975 and raised in Pasadena, California.

Champion attended the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), and majored in English and minored in mass communications. While at that school she wrote for the Daily Bruin newspaper.

She has held several jobs on local television at stations like Orange County Newschannel, WPTV (Palm Beach, FL) and WGCL (Atlanta). While in Atlanta she was accused of using profanity on-air, but she protested, saying she had said “mothersucka” and reinstated to her job.

She is a fan of the Los Angeles Lakers and the UCLA Bruins.

Champion reportedly has a net worth of $2 million. According to CelebrityNetWorth.com the anchor earns an annual salary of $1 million.

Artie Lange Controversy

Comedian Artie Lange portrayed himself and Champion in a sexual fantasy set during slavery in a series of tweets. He later apologized for the tweets and was criticized by ESPN for them.
