A 2-year-old boy in Philadelphia was shot on Thanksgiving Day by his 4-year-old cousin.
Chief Inspector Scott Small told reporters, “The mother was preparing Thanksgiving dinner when the two kids were playing with the gun.”
The child suffered wounds to his chest and finger. He is currently in critical but stable condition in the hospital.
The parents of the 2-year-old, Rachel Santiago and Omar Laboy-Vega, are now facing charges of child endangerment as a result of the shooting.
In 2016, over 600 children age 12 or younger have been killed or injured in incidents involving guns in America.
Politicians financed by the NRA have refused to do anything about the problems stemming from gun violence in America.
