Reports and updates on the investigation by special counsel Robert Mueller into Donald Trump. Donald Trump is accused of colluding with Russian operatives in order to influence the outcome of the 2016 U.S. presidential election. Robert Mueller was appointed special counsel to investigate the case after Trump fired FBI Director James Comey. Comey indicated in congressional testimony that Trump pressured him to make a public statement that he was innocent in the FBI’s investigation of Trump and Russia.
Senior Trump Officials Under Investigation
Mueller plans to interview the following current and former senior Trump White House officials: communications director Hope Hicks, former press secretary Sean Spicer and former chief of staff Reince Priebus.
White House Communications Director Hope Hicks has hired lawyer Robert Trout to represent her after sources near Mueller indicated that Hicks may come under questioning in the investigation.
