WATCH: Buccaneers Wide Receiver Explains Why He Won’t Stand For Anthem After Trump

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans sat during the national anthem on Sunday’s game in protest of the election of Donald Trump to the presidency.

Evans told reporters that he decided to make the public gesture in opposition to the racist policies and ideas espoused by Trump during the campaign.

When asked if he heard a reaction from the crowd during the game to his protest, Evans said he heard a small reaction from Trump supporters that he expected, but that he would continue to exercise his right to protest.
